Today, FDA approved the first Treg cell-based immunotherapy designed to improve chronic GVHD-free survival in adults with blood cancers receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplants (HSCT) —a significant advancement in transplant care. The treatment uses donated stem cells and immune cells from a closely matched donor to help the body fight cancer while reducing the risk of a serious complication called chronic graft-versus-host disease — a condition that can occur when transplanted donor blood cells attack the patient's body.
