Al via la nuova edizione di WebValley, la scuola estiva di Data Science di FBK che coinvolge 20 giovani talenti provenienti dall’Italia e dall’estero. 🗓️Fino al 4 luglio i partecipanti saranno impegnati in un percorso intensivo dedicato alla data science applicata alla meteorologia sul tema “Weather Meets Artificial Intelligence: Contributing to Open Science for Earth Observation”. L’edizione 2026 si distingue per un rafforzamento della dimensione scientifica e internazionale del programma: le attività sono realizzate con il contributo dell’Unità DSIP di FBK, in collaborazione con IT4LIA AI Factory e con la partecipazione dei ragazzi all’iniziativa MLCast dell’EUMETNET E-AI Programme. Il percorso è arricchito da seminari e incontri con esperti di DMI - Danish Meteorological Institute, Protezione Civile Bolzano, Meteotrentino e CINECA che, nell’ambito di IT4LIA, supporterà il progetto sul fronte cloud. Si confermano inoltre le collab internazionali con la Sarasota-Manatee Science and Technology Society e con il Collegio Dante Alighieri. Anche quest’anno l’iniziativa si svolge con il patrocinio della Provincia Autonoma di Trento. Tra le novità dell’edizione 2026, l’evento conclusivo del 3 luglio presso il polo FBK di Povo assumerà un nuovo formato: una sessione di poster interattivi, pensata per favorire il dialogo e il confronto diretto tra i partecipanti e la comunità scientifica della Fondazione. The new edition of WebValley, the Data Science summer school organized by FBK, has officially begun. This year the program brings together 20 talented students from Italy and abroad. Until July 4 participants will take part in an intensive training program focused on data science applied to meteorology, built around the theme “Weather Meets Artificial Intelligence: Contributing to Open Science for Earth Observation.” The 2026 edition stands out for its strengthening of the program’s scientific and international dimension. Activities are carried out with the contribution of FBK’s DSIP Unit in collaboration with IT4LIA AI Factory, and include the students’ participation in the MLCast initiative of the EUMETNET E-AI Programme. The educational program will be enriched by seminars and meetings with experts from the DMI - Danish Meteorological Institute, Civil Protection Bolzano, Meteotrentino, and CINECA. Within the framework of IT4LIA AI Factory CINECA will support the project on the cloud-computing side by providing the computational resources required for the activities. International partnerships with the Sarasota-Manatee Science and Technology Society and Collegio Dante Alighieri have also been renewed. Once again, the initiative is held under the patronage of the Autonomous Province of Trento. Among the new features of the 2026 edition, the closing event on July 3 at the FBK Povo campus will adopt a new format: an interactive poster session to encourage dialogue and direct exchange between participants and the Foundation’s scientific community.
