Hello everyone. When the ongoing war in my country, Sudan, first started out and we were forced to flee our homes and both my family and I were internally displaced, this sudden shift in life had a huge impact on me; it wasn't easy to get back on my feet and start being productive again, especially given that I'm still in Sudan. I planned multiple times to start taking online courses as well as search for remote job opportunities, but I just couldn't do anything due to the state of frustration, disappointment, and sorrow I was in. When I first noticed the amazing Bright Network IEUK opportunity, I knew I couldn't pass it up, so I applied, and to my delight, I got accepted! When I received the acceptance email, I was overjoyed and knew that I shouldn't waste this fantastic opportunity but rather use it as my ticket out of the state I was in and the first step to many more opportunities. and I'm here to share with you that I actually did it and succeeded! It feels good to have completed this internship. I learned a lot throughout the four-day sessions from the staff members and employees of some of the biggest and most respected corporations. I also had the privilege of working on the Lloyds Banking Group work sample, where we were challenged with developing a solution for how technological innovation could help SME’s reach Net Zero carbon emissions. It was quite fulfilling to put my skills, knowledge, and experience to use on this project. I am grateful to the Bright Network IEUK team for organizing such an incredible virtual experience and giving me the opportunity to be part of it. The knowledge and connections I made over the course of the internship will surely shape my professional path.
