I'm delighted to share our new article, co-authored with my friend and colleague Richard Endörfer, published in *Environmental Values*. In the paper, we examine the growing reliance on blended finance to mobilize private investment for climate action. Blended finance involves the strategic use of public funds to mobilize additional private investment in climate and development projects by improving their risk–return profile. We argue that, despite its appeal, blended finance raises important concerns from the perspective of climate justice. We suggest that strengthening the fiscal capacity of developing countries should take priority before turning to private finance. Many thanks to Richard for a fantastic collaboration—I thoroughly enjoyed working on this project. As always, I am also personally grateful for funding from the EU’s Horizon Europe programme as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie project PROHIBLUX. https://lnkd.in/dA6G2BY5
