The Six!! A Magazine Curated By is deeply rooted in the legacy of the Antwerp Six.   In the mid-1980s, six young graduates of Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts loaded up a rented van and drove to London to show the world what they had made. The press couldn't pronounce their names — so they became the Antwerp Six. Walter Van Beirendonck, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Van Saene, Dirk Bikkembergs, Marina Yee. A generation that changed fashion forever.   Fifteen years later, in 2000, Walter Van Beirendonck initiated something new — a magazine unlike any other. Not a publication about fashion, but one made *by* a designer, for their community. A vessel for vision, passion, and authenticity for all. The first issue featured fellow Six member Dirk Van Saene. A Magazine Curated By was born.   25 years on, across 34 issues, that spirit lives on, shaping A Magazine Curated By into one of the more distinctive voices in fashion publishing, with curators ranging from Martin Margiela and Yohji Yamamoto to Iris van Herpen, Glenn Martens and Willy Chavarria.   As Publisher I carry this forward every day, proud of what it stands for and committed to keeping it a space where designers and brands can be heard, in full, on their own terms.
