šØ EU Customs Changes Are Coming: What E-Commerce Shippers Need to Know šØ The European Union is introducing significant customs reforms that will impact e-commerce imports and low-value parcel movements from 2026 onwards. At Fast Track Express (FTE), we're committed to keeping our customers informed and prepared for regulatory changes that may affect supply chains, customs costs, and delivery operations. š¹ From 1 July 2026 A new temporary customs charge of ā¬3 will apply for every unique HS code declared on a shipment. š¹ ā¬150 Duty Relief Abolished The current duty-free threshold for low-value goods will be removed, meaning many shipments previously entering the EU without customs charges may now incur additional costs. š¹ From 1 November 2026 A ā¬2 handling fee per parcel is expected to be introduced for e-commerce imports into the EU. š¹ Product Identifiers Become Mandatory Import declarations will require Merchant Product Identifiers (M-PID) and Manufacturer Product Identifiers (NS-PID), increasing the importance of accurate shipment data. š¦ What does this mean for shippers? ā More HS codes in a parcel = Higher customs charges ā Accurate product classification will become more important than ever ā Better shipment data quality will be required ā E-commerce businesses should start reviewing their product catalogues and customs compliance processes now Example: ⢠1 HS6 code = ā¬3 charge ⢠2 HS6 codes = ā¬6 charge ⢠3 HS6 codes = ā¬9 charge Businesses shipping into the EU should begin preparing now to avoid unexpected costs and compliance issues when these changes take effect. Fast Track Express continues to support global e-commerce operators, consolidators, airlines, postal operators, and logistics providers with customs clearance, cargo handling, and last-mile injection solutions across the UK, EU and the USA.
