Creative Director Jonathan Anderson celebrated the transformative art of pleating in his sophomore Autumn/Winter 2026–2027 haute couture collection for Christian Dior Couture in Paris. Staged in a sylvan forest installation at the Rodin Museum, the runway paid distinct homage to iconic American sculptor Lynda Benglis, translating her method of turning flat materials into three-dimensional forms through complex textile manipulation. Anderson, who now uniquely oversees all three of Dior's fashion divisions, treated the maison's couture ateliers as an artistic laboratory by presenting tight, hand-pressed plissé gowns, knotted silver-foiled petal skirts, and deconstructed variations of the historic Bar jacket. The highly technical presentation was viewed by a star-studded front row—including Sabrina Carpenter and Josh O'Connor—capitalizing on intense organic brand heat following Anderson's high-profile design of Taylor Swift’s wedding dress just days prior. By weaving Benglis' raw, muscular artistic sensibilities with delicate floral embellishments and co-designed metallic handbags, the collection successfully re-energizes Dior's heritage with an offbeat contemporary edge that appeals to elite luxury collectors.
