What does it mean to compose music that breathes? Peter Peyman Farzinpour's Soffi Notturni — Italian for "Nocturnal Breaths" — answers that question with extraordinary subtlety. Composed for chamber ensemble, the work inhabits the space between sound and silence, drawing on the Italian nocturne tradition while pushing it into entirely contemporary territory. The result is music that doesn't demand your attention so much as it earns your presence. Paired with the Five Impromptus for Bass Clarinet, a set of five concentrated character studies that explore the full expressive spectrum of one of the orchestra's most underutilized voices, these recordings represent some of Peter's most personal and refined compositional work to date.
