I’m excited (to this extent:πŸ˜ƒ) to share that my paper, "Structural topology optimization based on an immersed FEM Level-Set method", has been published in the Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization journal. This work is the culmination of three years of research, during which I built the entire framework from scratch using #LAPACK libraries and #FORTRAN. Key contributions: Immersed level-set approach with separate FIXED LS grid and FE mesh Geometric accuracy boosted by interpolating directly from Gauss points rather than elemental values Gradient-free reinitialization and an IDW interpolation kernel (a modified Shepard's Method) for robust boundary representation Broad applicability to complex multiphysics problems in structural optimization (Spoiler for the next paper! ) In the attached video, you can see the code in action for differnt examples. This journey would not have been possible without the guidance of my supervisor, Prof. Roberto Brighenti, and all those who helped me during this imperative journey. Special thanks to Erwin SchrΓΆdinger International Institute for Mathematics and Physics for providing the opportunity to meet shape and topology optimization experts, whose advice truly paved the way for this work.
