If last year’s conversation was about becoming EUDR-ready, this year’s was about something harder: proving it. That was one of the clearest takeaways from World of Coffee 2026 in Brussels. Across conversations with exporters, cooperatives, traders, and sustainability teams, one question surfaced repeatedly: Have we done enough? For many organisations, farms have been mapped, producer records strengthened, and traceability systems put in place. The challenge now is different: will those records stand up to scrutiny when enforcement begins? What we heard in Brussels suggests the conversation is shifting from implementation to confidence, and from collecting data to demonstrating that it can be trusted.
