𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁. When it comes to pharmaceutical packaging, it is only natural to look closely at the unit price. But a significant share of the actual costs arises later: during ongoing operations on the packaging line. For example, through additional feeding systems, more frequent changeovers, manual interventions, coordination effort between components or disruptions that interrupt line flow. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗖𝗢 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁. Because a packaging solution is not automatically more cost efficient just because the individual item costs less. What matters is how it performs within the overall process. ❓️How many components need to be procured, checked and provided? ❓️How stable is the feeding process on the line? ❓️How much coordination is required between procurement, supply chain, production and quality? ❓️How often are changeovers or manual interventions needed? With solutions such as pre-assembled pharmaceutical packaging or Combi-Packs, process steps can be reduced, interfaces simplified and lines aligned more closely with stable serial production.
