I'm proud to share this video, as it truly shows the heart of the work we do. Every day, I see firsthand the effort our Belgian vessel owners and fishers put into innovating and becoming better 'shepherds of the sea'. It’s not always easy to convey the complexities of our work, which is why I’m so enthusiastic about this video. It does an incredible job of breaking down the intricate framework our fishers operate in, using normal, human language instead of big scientific words or policy formulations. This wonderful story couldn't have been told without Pedro Rappé, the person behind VISTools, and the dedication of Hans Polet and the entire ILVO (Instituut voor Landbouw, Visserij- en Voedingsonderzoek)-team. And of course, a huge shout-out to the Belgian fishers who put their shoulders under this initiative. Their trust and commitment make it all possible. I truly hope you'll take a moment to watch.
