Here is one of my favourite selfie with Börje! I was one of the lucky few who got to experience his leadership firsthand, and watching him turn around a company as vast and complex as Ericsson was something truly remarkable. He won business against fierce Chinese competitors, invested boldly in innovation, and never once lost sight of the core business. That balance is rare. What many people may not remember is that when he first came on board in 2017, he was announced as an interim CEO — a holding appointment by the board until someone permanent could be found. He clearly had other plans. My most lasting memory of Börje is his humility and honesty. He once made the front page when he publicly called for a level playing field for Huawei — at a time when that took real courage to say. Not many CEOs would speak with that kind of integrity when the easier path was silence. He leaves Ericsson as a market leader in telecommunications industry — a far cry from the considerable headwinds the company faced when he stepped in.
