Student Cardiac Physiologistπ«
UoS 2nd Year Placement Finished! π On the 12th of June 2026, I completed my 12-week placement at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as part of my Cardiac Physiology degree at the University of Southampton, the 3rd of 4 required placements on the course β This placement provided me with a valuable insight into the role of a Cardiac Physiologist working within a multidisciplinary team and gave me another incredible opportunity to apply and build on my clinical knowledge. I was able to observe and perform a wide range of cardiac diagnostic procedures allowing me to develop my practical skills within a clinical setting, alongside the privilege of interacting with patients across a wide variety of clinical scenarios π©Ί I particularly enjoyed observing procedures within the cardiac cath lab and taking part as a Cardiac Physiologist in catheter ablations watching patients with arrhythmias return to sinus rhythm ππ» A huge thank you to the University of Southampton and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for providing me with this opportunity and Andrea Taylor and the wider team for sharing their knowledge, support and guidance making this experience so valuable! π I look forward to my final year placement and continuing to develop my skills as a future Cardiac Physiologist :)
