🚀 We are proud to share that three researchers from the Faculty of Science and Engineering - University of Groningen are part of international consortia awarded funding through the joint NWO–JST programme on unconventional information processing technologies. Together, the Groningen projects have secured more than EUR 1.7 million in funding for research into the future of computing. As conventional computer chips approach their physical and energy limits, these projects explore new ways of processing information through breakthroughs in quantum technology, photonics, spintronics and neuromorphic computing. Congratulations to Prof. Justin Ye, Prof. Bart van Wees and Dr. Farhad Merchant on this exciting achievement, made possible through collaboration between Dutch and Japanese research partners. Two of the projects are connected to the CogniGron, University of Groningen (FSE) research centre, highlighting Groningen’s strong position in next-generation computing and intelligent systems research. These collaborations between Dutch and Japanese researchers are helping shape faster, more energy-efficient and scalable computing technologies for the future. 💡 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dtBD9ihv Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) Tohoku University National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) #UniversityOfGroningen #FSEGroningen #Research #QuantumComputing #NeuromorphicComputing #Innovation #InternationalCollaboration #FutureOfComputing
