At the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, UCPH, strengthening collaboration across disciplines and advancing translational research are key priorities. We believe that many of the most important breakthroughs in health and medicine happen when basic and clinical researchers work together to transform scientific discoveries into solutions that benefit patients.   The Novo Nordisk Foundation Tandem Programme supports exactly the kind of close collaboration between basic and clinical researchers that is central to SUND’s strategic ambitions, and we are delighted to see researchers from the faculty among this year’s grant recipients. The projects exemplify how partnerships across disciplines, institutions and research environments can accelerate the journey from discovery to impact. They also demonstrate the strength of SUND’s research ecosystem, where collaboration and translational thinking are helping to address some of the most pressing challenges in human health.   👏Congratulations to:   • Professor Inge Marie Svane, Institut for Klinisk Medicin, Københavns Universitet, and collaborators at Herlev og Gentofte Hospital, for the project Redesigning immune cell therapy with clinician-controlled cytokine receptor to reduce toxicity and improve cancer patient outcomes.   • Associate Professor and Chief Physician Stefan Stender, Institut for Klinisk Medicin, Københavns Universitet, and co-applicant Professor Jesper B Andersen, Biotech Research & Innovation Centre (BRIC), University of Copenhagen, for the project Integrating Human Genetic Variation and Functional Genomics to Identify Safe and Effective Metabolic Targets in Liver Cancer.   • Associate Professor Zach Gerhart-Hines, Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR), and collaborators at Aarhus Universitetshospital and Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus, for the project META-MIGHT: METabolic Adaptation and Mechanisms of Incretin and Growth Hormone co-Therapy.   Read more about the 2026 Tandem Programme grant recipients: https://lnkd.in/e5eMK2Kz
