Professor Amy Milligan of Old Dominion University is untangling Jewish history — one strand at a time. 💇🏻‍♀️ She was recently interviewed by SWR Kultur, a major public broadcaster in Germany, about the role of hair in Jewish life, including hair coverings for religious women and upsherin, a ceremony celebrating a boy’s first haircut. By drawing on her scholarship and experience as an educator, Professor Milligan was able to go on the air and give Jewish culture greater visibility. ⬇️
