That's it! All banks in Montenegro are now live and offering Instant Payments to their customers. This is a huge milestone for the future of payments in the country, and for the services that can be built on this foundation. But that's a topic for another day. Today I want to highlight how amazing it was to see an entire banking industry implement in 6 months what most markets take years to build. The dedication, the hard work, the resilience that doesn't make the headlines but is actually the key success factor of any project like this one. Banks made this a priority and delivered, plain and simple. Through several projects in my career, I have been lucky to be the prime witness of banking communities around the world coming together to solve huge problems. But what this market has achieved in such a tight timeline is nothing short of impressive. Under the leadership of the Centralna banka Crne Gore, all customers in Montenegro now have access to Instant Payments, 24/7 and 365 days a year. Sitting in Podgorica today and watching people send their first Instant Payments from their banking apps this morning during the go-live was a really special moment.
