*I am a psychologist* After 13 years of studying on and off, I have just become a REGISTERED PSYCHOLOGIST! It feels surreal. This is such a huge thing for me as my journey towards general registration definitely was non-linear: completing my undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Germany through University of Düsseldorf, doing a semester abroad at the University of Adelaide, moving to Australia, putting my psych career on hold for a career in HR, and then realising that I wanted to be a psych after all, finally enrolling in a second Master of Clinical Psychology with the Australian Catholic University. Oh, and one of my educational highlights was doing Erasmus in Finland, studying at University of Tampere 1925-2018. Along the way, I have met some amazing people, including the fabulous Dr James Morandini — I am incredibly grateful for your mentorship, support and guidance in the past two years. It’s exciting to continue working at King Street Psychology Clinic as part of my registrar program, starting in February 2024. It’s also been an utter pleasure and joy to be supervised by the amazing @georgia mcclure and @eleanor frow! I cannot wait to continue my journey at KSPC learning from you and all other incredible clinicians at the clinic. Shout out also to my husband who’s been such a massive support and to all my friends I have made along the way. This journey has been tough, but at the same to also so wonderfully rewarding, especially because of the stimulating coursework, great lecturers at ACU and my incredible placements at the The Gender Centre and King Street Psychology Clinic. After having worked super hard the last two years, I’m taking a long-ish holiday travelling back to my homecountry Germany. Looking forward to continuing to support my wonderful clients in the new year. Happy holidays and see you all again in 2024 ❤️❤️
