How do early structural changes in kidney disease translate into molecular dysfunction? In our latest case study, Evotec and abberior combine super-resolution microscopy with spatial transcriptomics to interrogate kidney biopsies at unprecedented resolution. This integrated approach connects ultrastructural alterations with their associated molecular signatures, providing a more resolved view of early disease mechanisms. The work highlights how combining complementary technologies can move from descriptive morphology to mechanistic insight, supporting translational research and target discovery.
