Where it all began! ✨ Although Evonik’s predecessor company, Degussa, was founded in Frankfurt 153 years ago, its founders actually came from Darmstadt, located just south of the city. From there, they exerted a significant influence on technological progress for many years. ⚙️ It is therefore no surprise that a street in Darmstadt was named after Hector Roessler (1779–1863) in 1901. As Grand Ducal Mint Councillor, he made important contributions to the development of mechanical engineering that extended far beyond the region.
