💰🚨 A Malaysian entrepreneur named Arsyan Ismail sold the web domain AI.com for $70 million. He originally bought the domain back in 1993 for roughly 100 USD when he was a kid. He chose it because the letters “AI” matched his initials. At the time the internet was young and short domains weren’t obviously valuable yet. The sale closed in April 2025 with Kris Marszalek, the CEO and co-founder of Crypto.com, as the buyer. They worked with a domain broker to complete the transaction. This sale is now one of the largest publicly disclosed domain name deals in history. The value comes from how short and relevant “AI” is, especially now that artificial intelligence tech is so big. He’s turning it into a consumer AI platform where people can create personal AI agents that do tasks for them, like managing messages, organizing work, using apps, even trading stocks.
