As EPC contractor, Everllence is responsible for all phases of engineering, procurement, and construction. Manufacturing of the three integrally geared compressors - the technological heart of the plant - is already well advanced, with gearbox production underway in Berlin and final assembly in Oberhausen. Dr. Uwe Lauber, CEO of Everllence, stated: "RheinEnergie is taking a pioneering role with this project. We will demonstrate how climate-neutral district heating can be realized successfully on an industrial scale." Andreas Feicht, CEO of RheinEnergie AG, added: “Our project in Cologne-Niehl demonstrates how climate protection, security of supply, and affordability can be combined. With Everllence, we have an experienced partner contributing both technological expertise and project-execution capabilities. The start of the main implementation phase marks another important step towards our goal of providing climate-neutral heat supply for Cologne.” This flagship project builds on Everllence's proven track record in large-scale heat pumps - including an operational seawater system in Esbjerg, Denmark, and the world's largest seawater mega heat pump currently under construction in Aalborg, Denmark (177 MW).
