The first time I visited Zhejiang as a tourist was after living there for nearly a decade. October 2024 was my first trip back to China after leaving in 2021. For nearly a decade, Zhejiang was home. But this time, instead of rushing to work, running errands, or meeting students, I got to experience it more like a visitor. One highlight was a museum in Hangzhou where I learned about traditional local art and even made my own print. Living somewhere teaches you a lot. Coming back years later with fresh perspective can teach you even more. The museum gave me a new appreciation for the art, culture, and traditions of the place I called home for so many years.
