Exactly one day after graduating from Georgetown University School of Medicine, I had the honor of presenting two oral presentations and one poster at the 2025 MedStar Health–Georgetown University Research & Education Symposium. Between sessions on community-based blood pressure screening, catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, and vascular access device management, it was a full day—but one I’ll always remember for the chance to connect with friends, mentors, and collaborators before heading off to the next chapter. Here’s a snapshot of each project: 🩺 Panel 1 – "Trimming the Risk: Partnering with barbershops to increase blood pressure vigilance within at-risk populations in Washington, DC" - Presented at the Health Equity Symposium with LaTasha Seliby Perkins and Quinton Jenkins, MPH—made possible through the RADIANCE grant. ❤️ Panel 2 – "Temporal Trends in Short-Term Outcomes of Catheter Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation at a Tertiary Medical Center" - An ongoing analysis of evolving trends in AF ablation outcomes. Stay tuned for the full manuscript! 🧵 Panel 3 – "Percutaneous management of suture-based vascular occlusion: A case series and benchtop model" - Shared our novel approach using cutting balloons to manage Perclose-mediated occlusion.
