Honored to be featured in this story, check it out below! 📖 “School of Medicine Students Seek Out International Clinical Experience” by Heather Wilpone-Welborne highlights what has undeniably been just the beginning of my career working in #GlobalHealth. I'm incredibly grateful to Dr. Bob Gilman at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health for taking me under his wing to work on #ChagasDisease research in Bolivia. Helping to build a database of over 4,000 patient records—charts, ECGs, and imaging—was a powerful way to learn about infectious disease, cardiology, and the importance of culturally informed care. I'm also deeply thankful to Dean Irma Frank, who helped me close out medical school with an unforgettable clinical elective in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Each day blended attending-led lectures with hands-on patient care, giving me a new lens on how medicine is practiced around the world. May these be the first of many experiences that work toward providing equitable, impactful care around the world. #GlobalHealth #ChagasDisease #PublicHealth #GeorgetownMedicine #MedicalEducation
