Kniha: Železo v krvi / Iron in the Blood Amazing, stunning, wonderful, great – to sú niektoré z prívlastkov, ktoré dostáva kniha Železo v krvi z rôznych kútov sveta. Hoci je kompletne v češtine a slovenčine, fotografia je medzinárodným jazykom rovnako ako nadšenie z vlastnej práce, ktoré z jej stránok prekypuje. Fotografickú misiu Viktora Máchu veľmi dobre vystihujú slová historika Neila Cossonsa (2007):  „Väčšinou Európy slávna éra priemyslu už prešla a zmizla… Čo zostane, bude záležitosťou historikov a archeológov. Našou zodpovednosťou je zachytiť čosi z ducha tej doby zabezpečením jeho materiálnych pozostatkov pre budúcnosť.“ Ako naznačuje aj názov rozhovoru v knihe: „Nefotím, zaznamenávam“ – a presne to Viktor roky neúnavne robí - prináša cenné svedectvo o miznúcej priemyselnej ére. Jeho databáza hutí a rozpáleného kovu je najrozsiahlejšou na svete. Oceľ je kľúčom k pohybu dejín, odštartovala priemyselné revolúcie a progres bez nej nie je možný. Som nesmierne rada, že som mohla prispieť svojou troškou do tejto dokumentačnej a výpravnej knihy. S prípravou sme začali v roku 2020 a po dlhom čakaní je konečne na svete. Although the text is entirely in Czech and Slovak, photography is an international language, as is the passion for one's work that overflows from its pages. The photographic mission of Viktor Mácha is succinctly captured by the historian Neil Cossons (2007): "For much of Europe, the glorious era of industry has now passed and gone... What remains will be the business of historians and archaeologists. Our responsibility is to capture something of the spirit of the age by securing its material remains for the future." As the interview title in the book suggests: "I don't take photos, I document" – and this is exactly what Viktor has been tirelessly doing for years, providing valuable testimony to a fading industrial era. His database of steel mills and molten metal is the most extensive in the world. Steel is the key to the movement of history; it launched industrial revolutions, and progress is impossible without it. I am immensely pleased that I was able to contribute my small part to this documentary and comprehensive book. We began preparing back in 2020, and after a long wait, it is finally out in the world.
