The Netherlands will introduce a distance-based truck tolling system from July 2026, aligning its approach with other major European markets. Key changes include: ✔️ Abolition of the Eurovignette ✔️ Mandatory use of a satellite-based On-Board Unit (OBU) ✔️ Toll rates linked to vehicle emissions classes ✔️ Tolling of most commercial heavy goods vehicle movements, including transit traffic For transport operators already using EETS solutions in markets such as Germany, Austria, and Belgium, implementation can be seamless through a single OBU and consolidated invoicing process. With no transition period planned, early preparation will be essential to ensure operational continuity and compliance from day one.
