The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) has published a guide to support board directors in addressing companiesโ nature-related risks. TNFD is a global initiative aiming at helping companies and financial institutions better integrate nature into strategic and financial decision-making. ๐The guide provides a structured list of questions to be considered at board meetings, along with the type of information board directors should expect from company executivesโ responses. ๐๐ฆ๐๐ด๐ด๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐พ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฐ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ป: โข Identifying businessesโ dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities in relation to nature across the value chain, based on which data. โข Assessing how nature-related factors are integrated in short and long-term decision making by the companyโs management, and whether executives have the necessary skills and experience to manage nature-related issues. โข Confirming compliance with industry standards and regulatory developments across jurisdictions, as well as investor expectations. The questions have been identified by the TNFD and its partner organisations based on discussions with executive and non-executive board directors of leading organisations that are already considering climate and nature-related issues.
