š” When we think about sustainable tourism, the question is often: how little can we take? But with regenerative tourism, the question becomes: how much can we give? š This idea was at the heart of today's discussions at the ETC Chapter Earth meeting in Helsinki. From Visit Finland's Regenerative Pathway to best practices from Haltia Lake Lodge, ĆRĆ Linnakesaari and Helsingin kaupunki ā Helsingfors stad ā City of Helsinki, we explored what it means to create tourism that leaves places better than before. The destination's goal is not simply to attract more visitors. The goal is to ensure that places, communities and ecosystems are stronger because of tourism. Thank you to all speakers for sharing their experiences, and to Jeremy Smith for helping us explore what regenerative tourism means in practice! šø Markus Sommers
