👣 Our last day in Finland was all about exploration! Following discussions on regenerative tourism and climate action, it was inspiring to step outside and experience these concepts in practice. 🛥️ Today, the ETC Chapter Earth visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Suomenlinnan hoitokunta and explored how tourism can help preserve cultural heritage while supporting locals. From the ferry journey across the Baltic Sea to learning about visitor engagement and site stewardship, the experience brought many discussions to life. Seeing these approaches firsthand reinforced an important message: regenerative tourism is not just a strategy on paper – it comes to life through places, people and everyday decisions. 👏 A big thank you to Visit Finland and Helsingin kaupunki – Helsingfors stad – City of Helsinki! From accommodation and transport to dining and site visits, responsible practices were embedded throughout the programme, creating a truly enriching learning experience.
