This #PrideMonth 🏳️‍🌈, we celebrate research that brings visibility to stories too often left untold. ERC grantee Ana Cristina Santos at Universidade de Coimbra examines how LGBTQI+ people in Southern Europe have experienced ageing across very different political moments. By centering older LGBTQI+ lives in Portugal, Italy, Greece, Malta, and Slovenia, her research reveals how rights, stigma, and resilience have been shaped by key events such as criminalisation, the AIDS crisis, and the more recent anti-discrimination laws.
