⏳ Has life expectancy hit a biological ceiling? For decades, rising life expectancy seemed almost guaranteed. Yet in recent years, in countries like the UK and the US, that progress has stalled or even reversed. ERC grantee Jennifer Dowd at the University of Oxford investigates the social, economic, and biological forces behind this trend. So, what is driving this slowdown? Not a biological limit.
