What does it feel like to win one of science's most prestigious prizes? This week, five ERC grantees found out they are 2026 Kavli Prize laureates. Their reactions are worth seeing. The disbelief. The tears. The speechlessness. The quiet sense of being overwhelmed by something you are still trying to digest. And something that feels very close to the spirit of #FrontierResearch itself: a genuine sense of privilege at being recognised for work you would have done anyway, simply because you love it. That is what curiosity-driven science looks like when it is acknowledged at the highest level. Congratulations to Christine Holt (University of Cambridge) and Erin Schuman (Max Planck Institute for Brain Research), recipients of the Kavli Prize in #Neuroscience for discoveries that transformed our understanding of how the brain develops and adapts; and to Amina Helmi (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen), Vasily Belokurov (University of Cambridge), and Rodrigo Ibata (CNRS), recipients of the Kavli Prize in #Astrophysics for revealing how the Milky Way was assembled over billions of years. And congratulations to all 2026 #KavliPrize winners! Find out more 👉 https://lnkd.in/g77MA_zR The Kavli Prize
