Why do some people become addicted to drugs while others do not? 🧠 Only around 20% of cocaine users develop addiction. Christian Lüscher's new #EUfunded research explores why, by studying how life experiences can alter the brain through neuroepigenetic mechanisms. His team at CSIC will focus on: 🔸 identifying behavioural and brain markers linked to addiction vulnerability 🔸 understanding how stress increases the risk of compulsive drug use 🔸 exploring ways to reverse harmful epigenetic modifications and restore resilience The goal?
