Did you ever take a closer look at food labels? Safe food starts with clear information. In the EU, food labels must provide information on: • what ingredients are used (listed by quantity) • which allergens are present • nutritional information • country of origin for many products • use-by and best-before dates • storage instructions. And if you spot the EU organic logo, you know the product has been produced according to strict EU organic farming rules. To carry the logo, at least 95% of its agricultural ingredients must be organic. Today is World Food Safety Day, and we celebrate the fact that EU rules help ensure a high level of food safety, transparency, and consumer protection 🍽️🇪🇺
