This week, our managing director Christian Schneidermeier travelled to the headquarters of our member SPORT 2000 GmbH to participate in Sustainability Forum 4.0. This initiative involves a group of German retailers, including Sport 2000 and INTERSPORT Deutschland e.G., along with brands such as Atomic, VAUDE and Houdini Sportswear. They work together to address some of the most pressing sustainability topics facing our industry. This week’s event was facilitated by Sport 2000, PAC and Sports Group Denmark A/S and involved some constructive discussions about digital product passports (DPP) and the EU Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (EmpCo Directive). We were also given a briefing on the latest development on DPP by the Hohenstein Group.   It was notable that throughout the meeting, the Sustainable Data Exchange (SDEX) programme that was initiated by the EOG with the BSI - Bundesverband der Deutschen Sportartikelindustrie e.V. was consistently referred to as an important tool that is available to help the outdoor sector. The group agreed to continue working on the development of SDEX in its own right and in combination with DPP. We’re grateful for the invitation that was extended to Christian and look forward to collaborating with partners to keep taking the initiative forward together. #outdoors #outdoorindustry #collaboration #sustainability #DPP #EmpCo
