ENHR Webinar: Balanced Territorial Development for Affordable Housing. On Thursday 23rd from 13.00-14.20 CET, our monthly webinar will ask how European cities and regions can better connect ‘shrinking’ cities and towns within their regions, to make use of existing housing stock, and balance housing demand. As envisioned in the European Affordable Housing Plan, renovation and expansion of local affordable housing stock in areas experiencing population decline can help relieve pressure on popular urban areas, while supporting the continuation of local services that enable exisiting residents to stay. Yet research shows that efforts to regenerate 'shrinking' cities, towns and villages can produce countereffects, such as local young people being priced out. Join us as our members share recent research and discuss the policy implications for affordable housing and regional development. ENHR member and Housing Advisory Board representative Rikke Skovgaard Nielsen will begin the discussion, moderated by ENHR Chair Montserrat Pareja-Eastaway. https://lnkd.in/e3THMqEN
