Europe risks ending up connected only on paper. The next EU budget must invest in cross-border transport that reaches every region, every city. Fast connections should promote cohesion, not widen gaps between core regions and the rest of Europe. Last week in Bratislava, while a new proposal on the future MFF was put forward by Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026 our rapporteur on the Connecting Europe Facility, Juraj Droba together with local and regional leaders, welcomed CoR President Kata Tüttő to reaffirm that the MFF is MUCH MORE than a budget. It is about how Europe stays connected. Physically, economically, and socially.
