Smartphones, tablets, laptops... they all made the switch to USB-C. Now, chargers must follow. Because 400 million sold yearly in the EU means serious waste. To make life easier for consumers and boost energy efficiency, we have updated the ecodesign rules for chargers. What changes? ✅ All USB chargers on the EU market must include at least one USB-C port and work with detachable cables. ✅ Chargers will meet higher energy efficiency standards and become more interoperable. ✅ A new EU Common Charger logo will help consumers match devices and chargers easily. Why does it matter? 💡 Up to 3% energy savings by 2035 💡 9% fewer greenhouse gas emissions and 13% less air pollution 💡 Consumers could save €100 million per year by 2035. Manufacturers now have 3 years to adapt. One 🇪🇺 charger to rule them all. More 👉 https://lnkd.in/e-5mm8wu
