🌊 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮 This year, World Oceans Day invites us to rethink our relationship with the ocean - not as an inexhaustible resource, but as a shared heritage on which our climate, economy, food security and collective future depend. One year after the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (#UNOC3), which brought together more than 50 Heads of State and Government, this day serves as a reminder that ocean protection has become a global priority. Progress achieved in the protection of the high seas, marine biodiversity conservation, the fight against illegal fishing, pollution reduction and the decarbonisation of maritime transport demonstrates growing international commitment. To mark the first anniversary of this landmark conference, Monique Barbut, 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, and Catherine Chabaud, 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, are co-hosting an event today at the National Museum of Natural History (Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle) alongside the 𝗡𝗲𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 (more informations in first comments). In the presence of Costas Kadis, 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, the event brings together scientists, policymakers, diplomats and committed stakeholders around a common objective: 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲. However, commitments must now be translated into concrete action. ⚓ Shipbuilding and inland waterway construction 🌊 Maritime transport and ports 🔋 Marine renewable energy 🚢 Fleet decarbonisation 💡 Innovation and emerging technologies These are essential levers for reconciling economic development, sovereignty, competitiveness and ocean preservation. 📍 From 𝟭 𝘁𝗼 𝟯 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟴 in Marseille Chanot, EUROMARITIME will bring together the maritime community's key stakeholders to showcase and accelerate the solutions shaping a more sustainable, innovative and resilient maritime economy. Because the future of the ocean will be built collectively - through innovation, cooperation and the commitment of the entire maritime community. #WorldOceansDay #Ocean #BlueEconomy #MaritimeIndustry #Decarbonisation #Innovation #Shipping #Ports #Sustainability #EUROMARITIME #Marseille #EM28 #MissionNeptune SOGENA
