Another stable week across the European #aviation network, our ☀️✈️ Summer #FlashBriefing for Week 24 shows: again a gentle week-on-week rise (⬆️1.5%) to 34,983 daily flights, with punctuality steady & delays again down📉. Overall, the first 2 weeks of Summer 2026 vs Summer 2025 show ⬆️0.9% traffic✈️ ⬆️1.4pp arrival punctuality⏰ ⬇️22% air traffic flow management (#ATFM) delays⚠️. Key W24 (8-14 June 2026) stats: ✈️ 34,983 average daily flights, ⬆️1.5% vs W23, ⬆️1.2% vs 2025 ⏰76% arrival punctuality, marginally down on W23 (⬇️0.4pp) and ⬆️1.5pp vs 2025 ⚠️2.3 mins/flight #ATFM delay, ⬇️13% vs W23, ⬇️29% vs 2025 – split between en-route (1.7 mins) & #airport (0.6 mins) ⚡40,004 flights delayed by #ATFM restrictions (5,715 a day, 16% of all flights). 👉 Once again, adherence by air navigation service providers (#ANSPs) to their planned Network Operations Plan (#NOP) capacity commitments was solid 👏 with: 📍 57/68 Area Control Centres delivering as planned 📍 6 delivering but with crisis/bad weather impacts 📍 only 5 failing short of planned commitments. 🔥Network hot spots: France 🇫🇷 generated 28% of en-route delays (of which 9.2% attributed to Reims, 5.5% Marseille & 5.1% Brest area control centres (#ACCs), mainly owing to capacity issues, staff shortages & transition issues with 4-FLIGHT, DSNA's new collaborative #ATFM system, Spain 🇪🇸 23% (of which 13.6% Barcelona, 3.7% Sevilla & 5.0% Madrid #ACCs, reflecting capacity, staffing & 📈 high traffic growth) & Greece 🇬🇷 14% (of which 9.5% Athens #ACC & 4.4% Makedonia #ACC, the result of capacity, staffing & demand related to the Middle East crisis). Traffic distribution owing to the ongoing Middle East crisis impacts mirrored that of W23: 📉lower air traffic in Bulgaria 🇧🇬 Hungary 🇭🇺 Romania 🇷🇴 & Türkiye 🇹🇷 📈higher air traffic in Albania 🇦🇱 Croatia 🇭🇷 Cyprus 🇨🇾 Greece 🇬🇷 Montenegro 🇲🇪 North Macedonia 🇲🇰 Serbia 🇷🇸 & Slovenia 🇸🇮 coupled with continuous traffic growth in South-West Europe. For the year as a whole: ✅en-route #ATFM delays are ⬇️19.4% despite ⬆️0.8% traffic, reflecting strong coordination by the EUROCONTROL Network Manager (#NM) & all #ANSPs ✅400K minutes of en-route #ATFM delay have now been saved thanks to the updated capacity & weather-based operations (#CWBO) procedures & related scenarios, which again kicked into action to counter bad weather⛈️ in Week 24, saving 100K.
