📈 The European Commission has published the first-ever European Startup and Scaleup Scoreboard (ESSS), providing a new evidence base on the performance of startup ecosystems across the EU.   The ESSS shows a clear message: pro-startup policies are delivering tangible results. Since 2020, 20 out of 27 Member States have improved their performance, confirming the positive impact of targeted measures to support founders and innovative companies.   📊 The analysis highlights strong links between ecosystem performance and: 🔹 access to venture capital, especially at later stages 🔹innovation-friendly and efficient regulation 🔹availability of talent and R&D capacity 🔹conditions for scaling across the Single Market 📍 Countries such as Estonia, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands and Denmark stand out as front-runners, performing well above the EU average across key indicators.   ⚠️ At the same time, the scoreboard identifies structural challenges in several Member States, including limited late-stage financing, regulatory fragmentation, and talent outflows towards more mature ecosystems.   These findings will help inform future EU policy actions under the EU Startup and Scaleup Strategy, including upcoming initiatives to simplify cross-border scaling, improve access to capital, and strengthen Europe’s ability to attract and retain talent.   At EURADA, we see this as a key step toward a more connected and competitive European innovation ecosystem, where strong regional frameworks and EU-level coordination reinforce each other to help startups grow into global scaleups.   #EURADA #Startups #Scaleups #Innovation #EUInnovation #StartupEcosystem #Entrepreneurship #SingleMarket #RegionalDevelopment https://lnkd.in/dmFA2U7A
