How strong are local and regional identities in the EU? 🤔 As it turns out, very strong! In 2020, a Special Eurobarometer found that an average of 69% of EU respondents identify with their local area or region. On the whole, we see that regional identities are stronger in Southern and Eastern Europe, and weaker in Northern and Western Europe, but always more than 50%.
