From 1 July 2026, the new EU design legal framework is fully applicable. As from now on, in place: 🔹Protection for animated and dynamic designs. 🔹Recognition of digital products, graphical user interfaces and other non-physical designs. 🔹Support for modern filing formats, including 3D representations and video files. 🔹Simpler filing procedures and fully electronic communication with the EUIPO. 🔹Stronger protection against infringement, including in the context of 3D printing. 🔹A new Ⓓ symbol for registered EU designs.
