Earlier today, I had the honor of hosting my first book talk at the Columbia School of Social Work for #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth. Standing before my peers and professors to talk about Resilience: Breaking the Chains was truly a defining moment of honesty, vulnerability, and purpose. I spoke about vulnerability, toxic masculinity, and the importance of resilience in the midst of adversity. Seeing people genuinely connect with that today was incredibly humbling and reminded me that none of us heal alone and that sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is simply share our story. Having Warren K. Graham, Ph.D, LCSW, ACSW, Master CASAC as the moderator made it even more special. Seeing another Black man in this space, leading with grace and authenticity, inspired me deeply. I also want to thank Dr. Danielle M. Officer and Lorenzo Graham for helping make this possible and for always supporting meaningful conversations around healing and justice. To everyone who showed up, listened, or shared kind words afterward โ thank you. Your support means more than I can ever put into words.
