π¬ And that's a wrap of the landmark 35th edition of the European Film Festival (EUFF) in Singapore! Over the past two months, audiences embarked on an unforgettable cinematic journey through 30 films from 24 countries - crossing borders, cultures and generations without ever leaving their seats. Together, we laughed, reflected, questioned and connected through the universal language of film. 'As every cinephile knows, endings matter', EU Ambassador to Singapore Artis Bertulis reminded us at the closing. We ended with Maricel, the award-winning Cypriot film that evocatively captures the power of human connection, resilience and the unexpected bonds that shape and connect our lives - an inspiring reflection of the very spirit of this year's festival. It was particularly special for us to have H.E. Nikos Panayiotou join us and to have emerging filmmaker Nur Kaisah emcee the event. And to Kenneth Tan, Chairman, Singapore Film Society for helping us spring the best surprises and being the EUFF's guiding light. From sold-out screenings and new partnerships to thought-provoking stories of identity, belonging, courage and hope, EUFF 2025 demonstrated that despite endless streaming options, there is still something magical about sharing a story together in a darkened cinema. This year's edition was our longest yet and we journeyed through Singapore with the festival opening at the historic Capitol Theatre and then travelling to indie cinema Filmhouse and for the first time to a school GESS - German European School Singapore, forging a new partnership with Earth In Focus: Singapore Nature Film Festival, along the way. A heartfelt thank you to our audiences, partners, filmmakers, participating countries, Team Europe Ambassadors and colleagues, our fabulous designer Estee H. Utama and all those who made this possible. Special thanks to the EU's Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) for supporting this project. See you at the 36th European Film Festival! πΏβ¨ Till then, we leave you with this... #EUForeignPolicy #EuropeanFilmFestival #EUFF35 #CulturalDiplomacy #FilmFestival #SingaporeArts #EuropeanCinema #TeamEurope Craig McTurk School of Film & Media Studies, Ngee Ann Polytechnic LASALLE College of the Arts Nanyang Technological University Singapore The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore Filmhouse Singapore Film Society Kirsten Moench Joses Wong Magdalene Choo Joanna Ossinger Dr. Samir Puri Daphne Ong Deepika Shetty EEAS Asia Pacific
