Big news for #FoodSecurity šŸ„—šŸ„™ Together, with SFA and NParks we are pleased to announce enhanced trade arrangements that will boost Singapore's food resilience! āœ… New developments: • Singapore now recognises EU-wide regionalisation measures for animal diseases, ensuring continued food imports of meat and egg products from unaffected areas during outbreaks while guaranteeing the highest food safety standards • Raw materials used in manufacturing of meat and egg products can be sourced from any EU member State approved by Singapore • Greece, Lithuania and Latvia approved as new import sources - bringing total approved EU countries to 18 šŸ‡¬šŸ‡· šŸ‡±šŸ‡» šŸ‡±šŸ‡¹ šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ŗ These measures support the Singapore Food Story 2.0 strategy to diversify import sources and strengthen food security. As Singapore imports 90% of its food supply, partnerships like these are crucial for ensuring a reliable supply of safe food for all Singaporeans. The EU will be region of honour at Food and Hospitality Asia #FHA2026 taking place in Singapore Expo from 21 to 24 April, showcasing the key merits of EU agricultural produce.
