We mapped out the five things that move outreach the most. The list is up top. A couple of things stood out putting it together. Only one of them, clarity, is really about the email. The rest come down to who you're reaching and when. Relevance and ICP fit are a fancy way of saying you picked the right person. Timing is whether you caught them at a moment they cared. Follow-up is whether you showed up again instead of giving up after one try. None of that is writing. It's decided before you open the doc. Which is why "just write better emails" rarely changes much. You can polish a message all day. If it's landing on the wrong person at the wrong time, how it reads barely matters. The teams that get outreach working put their effort earlier, into who they're reaching and whether the offer fits. The email is the easy part once that's sorted. → ethumgroup.com
