Updates from our chair's ongoing research on the ETH House of Natural Resources (HoNR): (1) A new IBK research report is published and available under the following link: https://lnkd.in/dEdUT3C . The report showcases the diverse innovative structural systems using hardwood and presents insight and research data collected from an over 7 year long monitoring campaign. Many congrats to Leyder Claude Eleni Chatzi Frangi Andrea for the nice work! (2) Current research focuses on FE modelling of the long-term behavior of the different structural components; especially, the bi-axial slab system. The image below illustrates the impressive in-situ loading test that took place last week for model validation. Filling 6 water pools, a mid-span deflection of 8 mm was successfully measured. We thank the group of Geosensors and Engineering Geodesy (Prof. Andreas Wieser, Thomas Posur, Pascal Imhof, Isabelle Bai) for the collaboration. A a big thanks to the Bauhalle team of Dominik Werne, and to Julian Hofmann (MSc thesis 2020) and Gianna Weibel (MSc thesis 2021), as well as to the research supervisors Leyder Claude and Philippe Grönquist.
